Networking doesn’t have to be a chore!

Another of our quick posts (rather than the more business focused sometimes controversial posts). This one is about our latest (and possibly greatest) networking antics. One definition of networking is:

Creating a group of acquaintances and associates and keeping it active through regular communication for mutual benefit. Networking is based on the question “How can I help?” and not with “What can I get?”.

This all seems a little dry and actually at times networking can seem exactly that. Networking can also seem a little bit like everyone wants to ‘get’, rather than share.

However, we’re happy to say that the reports are that ‘Office Drinks’ in Colchester is nothing like this. We sent Michael there for the first time in March and again this evening. We think he may be hooked!

a lot of friendly banter, a lot of intelligent conversation

‘The atmosphere is really relaxed, a lot of friendly banter, a lot of intelligent conversation. I think Simon [Jones] has a great format and actually it’s a good evening.’

‘One thing I think is really important is that not only is the evening enjoyable, but I’ve also made some brilliant contacts for Puur. These are contacts that I hope we can work with in the future, not only because they are great people, but because I personally think they can add value to our offer’.

Great to see that Office Drinks is going strong in Colchester.
It’s great to have networking events that are relaxed and enjoyable yet also productive at the same time.

I’m a massive advocate of “networking brings results” but only if done correctly (and it’s amazing how few business know how to network properly). I would second your comments that Simon’s “the best of” meeting is a breath of fresh air. Good to meet Michael there too!
